Fertility Reflexology
Many different factors can affect ones ability to conceive. The terms infertility and sub-fertility are generally applied after a period of up to twelve months of trying to conceive.
I have treated many women and men who have experienced difficulties with conception. Fertility Reflexology can be helpful for a range of issues that can impact on a person’s fertility; some of these include: amenorrhea and menstrual cycle problems, polycystic ovary syndrome, endometriosis, cervical problems, hormonal imbalance, blocked or damaged fallopian tubes, uterine fibroids, stress-related problems and, in the case of men, oligospermia.
Many couples are described as suffering from ‘unexplained infertility’. Some may already have children, but are struggling to fall pregnant again. Some can be suffering from a specific medical problem, and sometimes it is as the name suggests: unexplained. This can be a very distressing and stressful time for many couples. When under stress, neurochemical changes take place. These can alter the release of hormones that regulate the maturation and release of an egg. When a woman is suffering from stress, spasms can occur in both the fallopian tubes and the uterus. Reflexology lends itself perfectly in helping with these matters.
I have also worked with couples undergoing IVF, IUI and ICSI. Reflexology is extremely helpful in support of both the body, physically, and of the mind, emotionally.
